Our caskets are constructed of solid northern red pine. Pine has a natural beauty and is lightweight and strong. Red pine also grows back rapidly and its easy return to earth makes the casket an agreeable choice for people environmentally concerned -- a perfect choice for a green burial. Additionally, the conservative use of metal hardware also makes the caskets compatible with the values and customs of many ethnic and religious groups.
Standard Pine Casket - $1440
The standard casket features an elegant vaulted lid, white oak handles harvested from locally fallen trees, and finished with hand-applied Watko oil and wax to bring out the texture and natural beauty of the wood. The oil and wax finish is included in the base price. A colored pigment stain (choice of your color) is available for an additional $65. Caskets can be delivered unfinished to allow family members to personalize the casket (e.g. one customer personalized a loved one's casket with Rosemaling). All caskets include a soft cotton quilted lining, pillow, and small walnut cross on the lid if desired. If you prefer to provide a personal blanket, quilt, or afghan as lining, the cost of the unlined casket is $1225.
Simple Pine Box - $585
The simple pine box is unfinished with rope handles and very few nails. Includes a soft cotton quilted lining and pillow. If you prefer to provide a personal blanket, quilt, or afghan as lining, the cost of the unlined box is $525.
